East Liverpool Students Defy Atheists and Recite Lord’s Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer has been a part of the graduation ceremony at East Liverpool High School in Ohio for the past ten years, but because the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) contacted the East Liverpool School District to complain, officials decided to drop the song from the program to avoid a potential legal battle.
Valedictorian Jonathan Montgomery led his class in a recitation of the Lord’s Prayer during their graduation ceremony on May 22, 2016 after a musical version of the prayer that has traditionally been a part of the commencement for years was removed due to the FRRF atheist complaint.
According to Superintendent Melissa Watson, “I am a Christian and it hurts me that there is even a question about it, but as superintendent, I have to put that aside. As you said, we can’t make it legal. I’m just sorry this is happening”. Read full article… christiannews.net
