Ireland has recently dispatched 100 tonnes of humanitarian relief supplies to Somalia
Over 400,000 people have been displaced in the country over the last six month because of prolonged drought, loss of livelihoods and acute hunger. They are congregating in informal settlements with nothing, arriving with only what they can carry.
Emergency Supplies

Four Famines in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen Loom
UNICEF News: Six years ago, at least 100,000 children died from famine because the world didn’t act soon enough. It’s 2017 and now famine looms in South Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen and Somalia. In fact, it has already been declared in parts of South Sudan and nearly 1.4 million children are at imminent risk of death.
The looming famine is largely man-made, and millions are in urgent need of humanitarian aid. We’re on the ground working tirelessly to reach children whose time is running out. We cannot let this happen again.
