Mandisa Music: Official Music Video for “Bleed The Same” from the album ‘Out Of The Dark” album. According to Mandisa,  this album reflects how God lifted her out of that time of severe depression.

“Bleed The Same” Lyrics | Mandisa

Woke up today
Another headline, another innocent life is taken
In the name of hatred
So hard to take
And if we think that it’s all good
Then we’re mistaken
‘Cause my heart is breakin’

Are you left, are you right
Pointing fingers, taking sides
When are we gonna realize

We all bleed the same
We’re more beautiful when we come together
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why we’re divided
If we’re gonna fight, let’s fight for each other
If we’re gonna shout, let love be the cry
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why we’re divided

Tell me who are we
To judge someone by the kind of clothes they’re wearin’
Or the color of their skin
Are you black, are you white
Aren’t we all the same inside
Father, open our eyes to see

Only love can drive out all the darkness
What are we fightin’ for
We were made to carry one another
We were made for more

We all bleed the same
We’re more beautiful when we come together
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why we’re divided
If we’re gonna fight, let’s fight for each other
If we’re gonna shout, let love be the cry
We all bleed the same
Let’s stand united, let’s stand united

We all bleed the same
We’re more beautiful when we come together
We all bleed the same
So tell me why, tell me why we’re divided

In the middle of her pain, God answered a prayer…

Being a believer doesn’t exempt anyone from hardship, but trusting God does help in navigating life’s tragedies and challenges. Just ask Mandisa. After the prayers of a multitude didn’t stop her dearest friend from succumbing to cancer, Mandisa withdrew, wrestled with God and fell into a deep depression.

Mandisa’s Bout With Depression

Now Mandisa is back and she has more to share than ever. “To be honest, that’s not how I thought things were going to happen,” she says of her friend Kisha’s passing. “I was disappointed with God. I was mad because as I prayed for her, I believed that God was going to heal her.

I’m not the kind of person who shakes my fist at the Lord and yells and screams. I just shut down and started turning to food again for comfort. For years, I was turning to Him for comfort, but I didn’t trust Him anymore, so I isolated and went back to my old friend, food.

Mandisa’s Renewal

Mandisa is back with a renewed passion for her music and a willingness to be totally transparent and vulnerable about her journey. She’s reconnecting with people, losing the weight she regained during her depression, and writing and recording such potent songs as “Prove Me Wrong” where she lays bare her soul and voices her questions to the Lord. “I’m Still Here” is a comeback song that proclaims that God is not done with her yet. | See fill story…mandisaofficial.com
