Big Roxanna Missionary Baptist Church – Montgomery, AL

Big Roxanna Missionary Baptist Church - Montgomery AlabamaIt was a humble beginning for a few interested and dedicated Christians to organize a place for worship. The first place of worship was held under a Bush Arbor located in South West Montgomery County on Highway 331 near Teague Road on the property of Mr. Randolph near his family home.

Because the very loud singing voices, clapping of hands, hollowing praises, preaching God’s Word disturbed his family life, In 1859, he donated an acre of land to the congregation for a church and he requested that the church’s name become Big Roxanna Missionary Baptist Church. As God inspired the leaders of the congregation, the church was used as a place of worship, a meeting hall, and a school.

The leadership of Big Roxanna Missionary Baptist Church is not in titles but in a willingness to serve as the church continues pursuit of excellence before God. To God be the Glory.
