North Miami Police Shooting: Charlie Kinsey, 47, was shot by an officer while trying to help a man with autism from the assisted living facility where Kinsey works. ABC News reports that there was outrage this morning after a behavioral therapist was shot after he held his hand in the air while lying on the ground, his patient with autism sitting right nearby.
Police say it all started when they got a call call about a man threatening suicide. You can see in the video, just moments before the shooting, you can see Kinsey lying on the ground with his hands raised in the air. According
According to Kinsey’s attorney, Hilton Napoleon, “He tried to explain that this is a mental health patient, that he was trying to get him back into the facility. “There was no need for firearms. He put his hands up, told them he was unarmed.”

*Update: The attorney of Charles Kinsey, who was shot by a North Miami police officer, said the city wants to settle the issue with his client as soon as possible.
