Painting A Picture of Heaven: There are not a lot of books and sermons that cover the topic of heaven. I really don’t know why, becauseThe Gospel Life Coach -- Death and Heaven Website the Bible is full of information about heaven. Some of it is subjective, and not objectively stated, It must be mined, thought about, and extracted.

Proverbs 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” Who are kings? The New Testament calls us priests and kings.

But without getting into human fantasy as I have seen some authors do, there is a lot said about heaven in God’s word.

These series of messages both (1) on death, and (2) on heaven, will begin in an introductory fashion, but will then grow into deeply captivating thoughts about both, with scripture references.

WE MUST DEVELOP A CHILD’S TRUSTING HEART

But you must be ‘childlike’ to see it. You must approach it in a trusting, searching, inquisitive way, like children do with anything new. Perhaps this is why Jesus tells us to ‘become as a child,’ with regard to the things of God — ‘or we will not enter the kingdom of God.’

He wasn’t talking about salvation as much as he is talking about seeing the reality of truth in this life. If we only approach things rationally, they often escapes us.

Paul says that God not only wants everyone to be saved, but to come into a knowledge of the truth (I Tim 2:4). Whenever you see the word truth, in either the words of Jesus, or the words of Paul, it means ‘gospel truth.’ Jesus said we must repent of all other beliefs and believe the GOSPEL (Mk 1:15). Paul says his total life-long ministry was to proclaim the GOSPEL of the grace of God (Acts 20:24).

You already have thoughts and beliefs about heaven and death or you wouldn’t be reading this.

But I want you to learn to think about death a childlike manner, and with trust God, and he will open your mind to see heaven’s truths. “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the honor of kings is to search out a matter” (Prov 25:2). God does not conceal something so we won’t find it. He instead conceals it so we will want it enough to strive to discover it.

CHILDLIKE THINKING IS THINKING LIKE ‘DADDY’

We must learn to do is to think like God thinks! Isaiah 55:7-8 says that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and that his thoughts are higher than our thoughts. But this does not mean we can’t think the way God does. The purpose of the GOSPEL is to straighten out our thinking, and to allow us to think like God thinks.

God planned the deaths of both Moses, and Aaron (Moses’ brother and high priest). You can read about it in Numbers 20:25, and 31:6.

Also, Psalm 116:15 says that our death is precious to God. He views death as something that is valuable and desirable. It gives me a great deal of comfort knowing how God thinks about dying and death.

IS DEATH A SUNSET, OR A SUNRISE?

We think of death as being the end of life: the termination of things. But God sees death as being transformed into his presence! Wouldn’t you agree there is a big difference in the way we most often think, and the way God thinks?

God sees death as the beginning of a new spiritual dynamic. In short, God sees death as being the sunrise, not the sunset.

There IS a termination of things as we tend to know them!

But like a caterpillar and a butterfly, God says termination becomes transformation, as we enter a new spiritual paradigm. Learn to think like God thinks. It will give you an entirely new perspective on DYING in relationship with God, — and on LIVING more in God until you do die! Seeing death as God does can cause you to be more of a blessing to him, and to others, than you ever dreamed possible — whether you are 13 or 103.

We all face death, and we contemplate heaven! This message by Roger Himes, The Gospel Life Coach introduces a new website: www.GodOfDeath-HeavenIsReal.com. This is a gospel website with a very specific focus on two things: (1) our physical death, and (2) our eternal life with God in heaven.
