About Pastor David Rocha

Pastor David Rocha,  formerly known as Sir Dyno, was a notorious Chicano gangster rapper who produced music that caused waves of violence in Western states.  His albums were banned in many stores and drew the attention of the FBI.

As a drug dealer, David sold Methamphetamine and negotiated deals directly with the Mexican drug cartels.  Through the years, David lost many friends to prison and others to murder.

David Rocha’s Rap Career

He grew up in a Christian home in northern California, but the anger he experienced over race discrimination as a child, grew into anger.  David found a sense of unity by starting a gang.  They instantly became involved in many violent crimes.  As an outlet for his anger, David began rapping about gang life.

Even after the money from his rap career and illegal drug sales began pouring in, David says he still felt empty inside.  David’s mother never stopped praying for him. After he received an 8-year prison sentence for selling illegal drugs to an undercover narcotics agent, David surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.

About House of Rest Church

David went through Bible college while in prison and was released in 2010.  Soon after he was credentialed with Grace International.  And in 2011, the church was planted in Modesto, CA  with his parents and a few friends as the congregation. In 2017, pastor David Rocha was married to Sharon Mendoza and they have both pastored the House of Rest along with Pastor Angel and Diana Rocha.​

The church has become a training ground for so many in walking in their Identity in Christ, which has led to miracles, physical healing, salvation, and demonic deliverance. The sermons are grounded in New man & New Covenant teachings found in God’s inspired Word.
