About Willow Creek Community Church

Willow Creek Community Church is one church with multiple locations.  The church was founded on October 12, 1975, by Dave Holmbo and Bill Hybels, who was its longtime senior pastor. Today, Willow Creek has seven campuses that bring the hope of Christ throughout Chicagoland, making it possible for people to find a Willow Creek service within 30 minutes of home—and making it easier for them to invite friends and be invested in their neighborhoods.

For years, many church members drove from all corners of Chicagoland to go to church at Willow’s only campus, located in South Barrington, Illinois. To help members grow in their faith and reach out to their local communities, Willow launched its first regional campus—in the DuPage, Illinois area—in 2001.

The regional campuses and the South Barrington campus are united by a single-minded aim: to reach people far from God and help them become fully devoted followers of Christ. Services are hosted by the campus pastor and feature live worship music.

David Dummitt is Senior Pastor of Willowcreek Community Church. He is also Founding Pastor of 2|42 Community Church in Brighton, Michigan. Pastor Dummitt is an innovative leader with a strong passion to see church leaders win and have fun doing it. He is committed to equipping and coaching church leaders to lead themselves and lead their churches well.

Pastor Dummitt is skilled at helping leaders rise above day-to-day frustrations in order to lead with a compelling vision, grow and multiply healthy teams, cultivate great culture, and develop strong systems that support growing churches.
