About S. Truett Cathy
He was the founder of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain but known for so much more. Cathy was a Godly man who taught Sunday school to 13-year-old boys for more than 50 years.
According to the founder’s faith, he incorporated Biblical principles into the work environment. He mandated that all Chick-fil-A restaurants operate with a “Closed on Sunday” policy. This policy allowed employees a day for family, worship, and rest.
WinShape Foundation
He founded the WinShape Foundation, in 1984, out of a desire to “shape winners” by helping young people succeed in life through scholarships and other youth support programs. The foundation operated 13 long-term foster homes and a two-week Christian summer camp.
Through the foundation’s Leadership Scholarship Program, the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain has given more than $32 million in financial assistance to Chick-fil-A restaurant employees since 1973.
