Bethany Hamilton (Soul Surfer) – Water for Life Project:  In this video, Bethany shares why she wanted to help provide clean water to needy people through the outreaches of  James Robison and LIFE Outreach International.

According to LIFE Outreach International, “We can stop the cycle of death with each new water well we drill and build. Everyone’s health, especially the children’s, improves immediately. Villages become more productive, and children – especially girls – who used to spend their days fetching water can now go to school. The entire future looks more productive and becomes better because the drinking water is clean and safe.”

About Bethany Hamilton

She has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of faith, determination, and hope. At the age of thirteen, on October 31, 2003, Bethany was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai’s North Shore. The attack left Bethany with a severed left arm.

Miraculously, just one month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water to continue pursuing her goal to become a professional surfer. In October 2004, Bethany shared her life story in her autobiography entitled Soul Surfer. In 2007, Bethany realized her dream and turned pro.
