Confronting Others with Grace – Deborah Pegues

Confrontation doesn’t have to be a scary thing. Deborah Pegues describes the true intent behind confrontation – coming together face-to-face to resolve a problem and achieve unity. She suggests using the sandwich method to deliver the issue (bread to soften the blow, the meat of the problem, more bread to soften). She compares retaliation with confrontation, then offers four confrontational styles – the Dictator, the Abdicator, the Collaborator, and the Accomodator. You’ll learn confrontation strategies, such as knowing the purpose of the confrontation, owning the problem, speaking the right words, listening, negotiating, and forgiveness.
