Christian Art :: Baptism of the Messiah

Castle Rock, Colorado

The Christian Art of Candis Kloverstrom with Artistic Impact Publishing, LLC is announcing the release of her latest work, Baptism of the Messiah. Kloverstrom illustrates her belief in Jesus as the unique Son of God who came as Savior of the world. Baptism of the Messiah depicts the beginning of His public ministry that ultimately brings Jesus to the cross. The artwork is now available at http://www.ArtisticImpactPublishing.com through giclee canvas reproductions.

Kloverstrom states, Jesus was Gods sinless Son. So for Him, baptism was a declaration of His intent and who He is. For me however, baptism was an admission of my guilt and need for redemption.

The Amplified Bible states in Rom. 6:3-4, Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, so we too might habitually live and behave in newness of life.

Jesus Was Aware of Easter at His Baptism

Wayne Jackson with the Christian Courier in the article, Why was Jesus Baptised, states, It was a visual precursor to the Saviors ultimate death, burial, and resurrection. We know that by the age of twelve Jesus was cognizant of his unique status as the Son of God. From the time of his infancy, Mary was privy to the dark shadows that loomed in her Sons future. One thing seems clear; by the time he submitted to immersion at the hands of John, he knew of his appointment with the cross and likely long before that.

The Theopedia talks about Jesus relationship to humanity through His baptism, Here at his baptism the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is first prefigured. It is here at his baptism that the perfect one intentionally identifies himself with repentant sinners, and demonstrates his full humility. It is at his baptism where the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ begins.

GotQuestions?org further explains why was Jesus’ baptism important, Perhaps most importantly, the occasion of the public baptism recorded for all generations to come the perfect embodiment of the triune God revealed in glory from heaven. The testimony directly from heaven of the Fathers pleasure with the Son and the descending of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus is a beautiful picture of the trinitarian nature of God. It also depicts the work of the Father, Son and Spirit in the salvation of those Jesus came to save. The Father loves the elect from before the foundation of the world; He sends His Son to seek and save the lost; and the Spirit convicts of sin and draws the believer to the Father through the Son. All the glorious truth of the mercy of God through Jesus Christ is on display at His baptism.
