Kristie’s Story of Hope – Portland Rescue Mission

Life on the streets is dangerous for women. Kristie spent nearly two weeks sleeping underneath a Portland bridge. “It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done,” she says.

Destroyed by addiction and the failures in her life, Kristie had little reason to live. Thankfully, she found Shepherd’s Door, the women and children’s ministry of Portland Rescue Mission.

In recovery, Kristie began to heal from the root causes behind her addiction. She finally faced the pain she’d tried so hard to run from — and found healing.
