Simple Juicing Advice To Help You Get Started With Ease

Juicing Advice - Lime Juice

Everyone can remember being a child and being told to finish their vegetables. If you don’t enjoy eating whole fruits, you will appreciate the following juicing advice.

Leafy Greens

When getting more nutrition and becoming healthier are the goals of your juicing endeavors, your best options when it comes to ingredients are greens that include broccoli, chard, kale, parsley and spinach. To get the most benefits, use at least 50% green vegetables in your juice drink. To add more flavor to your green vegetable juice add other vegetables or fruit. Juices made from fruit often have more sugar and fewer nutrients than those with leafy greens.

TIP! Try juicing with a masticating juicer. These juicers have a more gentle method of extracting juice, which helps the liquid maintain more of its nutrients.

Use the colors of your fruits and vegetables to help you figure out which nutrients they provide. Ranging from the vibrant greens to the beautiful bright reds, all these different colors of fruits and vegetables contain different minerals and nutrients. By mixing up the colors that you drink, you supply your body with a richer nutritional diet.

Wash your juicing equipment immediately after you have finished juicing. The juice of certain fruits and veggies can stain the juicer and its parts.

Keep your juicer in a place where you can see it. This will keep you more aware of it and the fact that you need to use it regularly. Keeping the juicer visible adds an extra bit of convenience.

Use a Coffee Filter

If you do not want your juice to contain pulp, you can eliminate it by using a coffee filter. You may not like the pulp consistency that some juices will create. You can strain the juice through a coffee filter or cheesecloth and eliminate most, if not all, of the pulp.

Juicing and keeping it inside the fridge is the best idea; however, you want to watch for color change of the juice. People are naturally going to assume that brown juice is bad. To prevent the mix from turning brown, add a few teaspoons of lemon juice. The juice will stay bright longer. The flavor will not be overwhelmed from the lemon and the juice will maintain that bright fresh look.

Drink Cranberry Juice

If you have cystitis, gallstones or another infection of the urinary tract, try drinking some cranberry juice. Make some cranberry juice if you exhibit any symptoms. If you have hypoglycemia or diabetes, stick to juicing vegetables until you consult with your physician. Drinking fruit juice may cause your blood sugar to spike.

You need to keep tabs on the amount of fruit you juice in order to avoid complicating your illness. Vegetables seldom present a blood glucose concern, but keep in mind some vegetables can affect blood coagulation, an important consideration if you are using prescription blood thinners.

If you consume the right amount of fruits and vegetables each day, your health and well-being will see significant improvement. Use the information that you’ve learned here to discover the healthy mind and body that juicing can bring to your life.
