When we make a choice, do we make a good choice or a bad choice. Is a bad choice an evil choice? The Bible tells us there are only two choices, good or evil. Evil always misrepresents God. The forces of evil have one mission and that as a separate you from God. It accomplishes this goal by deception and misrepresentation. When you think about it the word bad misrepresents evil. It makes it not sound as bad.

In our advanced society today we have been deceived into thinking that evil is outdated or obsolete. We fail to realize that when we make a choice there are external spiritual forces influencing our choices. Any person who rejects Jesus Christ has been deceived and misled by evil. There is no deception in absolute truths. Even people who go to church often times do not recognize how the forces of evil impact every domain of our life, the physical, the mental, the social, the emotional, and the spiritual. The choices of the food that you eat either build up or tear down your body. The entertainment that you watch either brings you to a closer relationship with Christ or that separates you from Him. The people that you associate with impact your relationship with Christ.

The forces of evil have led many to believe that evil is necessary to balance good. We see this in the theory of yin and yang. It is implied in the Star Wars trilogy. Even in politics we talk about an axis of evil. The truth is that evil is not necessary. There are many who blame God for personal tragedies when in fact they are the work of demonic forces. Every day we make hundreds of choices between good and evil. The problem is that we just see them as choices, not choices between good and evil. The Bible tells us that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.

All of us are victims of evil’s deceptions and misrepresentations. Evil takes a statement that’s 90% true and 10% false and wants you to believe that it’s all true. The story is told of a man who worked at a railroad crossing. It was his job to wave a lantern when a train was coming. One night as a train was coming he could not get his lantern lit so he just waved the lantern unlit. A horse and buggy did not see him and was hit by the train. When he went to court he insisted that he was doing his job. He just never bothered to tell anyone that the lantern was not lit. Much of the advertising that we see on TV today is very much the same way. The advertisements promote the benefits of a product but omit to warn you of potential dangers or they say them so fast you can hardly understand them.

Truth is so misrepresented in the world today that it is very difficult to know what truth really is. There are many today who see the Bible, or the word of God as simply a collection of stories and myths. They do not see it is an absolute source of truth to live by. This is because they have been deceived by the forces of evil. There are over 800 different religious organizations in America today and each one believes that they have the correct understanding of the word of God. Many of the radio and TV ministries are not very tolerant of people who don’t believe what they do. The truth about true Christianity is that it is tolerant. True Christianity never forces anyone to believe anything. Intolerance and coercion are tools of the forces of evil. Throughout history there have been literally millions of people put to death because their Christian beliefs did not agree with an apostate Christian church. Jesus Christ himself was crucified because He was rejected by the church leadership of his day.

The Bible says I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. The forces of truth will guide and direct you if you will let them. The choice is yours. The challenge is not allowing the forces of evil to gain a foothold in your life. Evil has found a way to misrepresent truth and be deceptive in all five senses, taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell. It is only by prayer and a constant connection with the Holy Spirit that you will know truths.
