Salvation Army Today – 01.16.2020 – Older Alaskans Program – Meals to Seniors // @sarmytoday
The Salvation Army Older Alaskans Program provides home-delivered meals and group meal sites to seniors over 60 in Anchorage, Alaska. For some Anchorage seniors, home-delivered meals are a lifeline to the outside world. With the help of volunteers, over 450 meals are delivered each day, and over 1,200 miles driven each week.
The Salvation Army’s public meal sites also provide seniors a hot nutritious lunch and an opportunity to socialize. Through this ministry, many seniors are able to continue living independently, while feeling connected and valued.
