Salvation Army Today – 1.23.2020 – 24 Hour Hackathon Netherlands // @sarmytoday
The Salvation Army Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Slovakia Territory hosted a 24 hour hackathon to come up with creative solutions to problems facing their communities. About 30 kids and 50 young adults participated, splitting up into teams to tackle challenges like loneliness, sustainability, poverty, and more.
The hackathon gave the youth the opportunity to step up and let their voices be heard by coming up with concrete ideas to put into action. The Territorial Commander, Commissioner Hannelise Tvedt, is passionate about this new generation and all the ideas they have to contribute, encouraging them by saying, “It’s time for you to pick up the torch.”
