The annual “Oldie But Goodies” evening sale at The Salvation Army Family Store in El Paso is a tribute to the oldies. The store closes early and the floor is stocked with items that some would consider “oldies” and others “goodies.” A DJ plays fifties music and free hot dogs, popcorn, and of course root beer floats are served from the soda shop hop!

Classic cars line up out front and staff dress up in poodle skirts, riff raff leather jackets and white tee’s. In just two hours the store triples its daily sales. “It’s not a sale, it’s an event!” said a frequent shopper at the Family Store.
