Tamilee Webb Workout Channel. She is a fitness expert, who is best known for her work on the Buns of Steel and Abs of Steel series of videos of the late-1980s and 1990s.  She is the author four best-selling books “The Original Rubber Band Workout” , “Step-up Fitness”, “Workout for Dummies” (IDG Books), and her latest book “Defy Gravity Workout”.

Tamilee Webb earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and a Master of Arts degree in Exercise Science both attained at California State University, Chico, California.   She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her outstanding achievements in the field of personal fitness. In 2008, she was inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame.

How You Can Feel Better About Your Fitness

If you want to get in shape but don’t have money for a gym membership or fancy exercise equipment, don’t fret. There are plenty of exercises you can do without needing any of this. You can run, walk, do sits or push-ups. When starting a new exercise regime, you must have a plan.

Make a list of your goals in an exercise journal. Choose a workout that you enjoy, like a Tamilee Webb workout, and begin by performing a low intensity version of this. With each week, increase the intensity and add an extra five minutes to your workout. Remember to make a note of your progress in your exercise journal, as this will only encourage you to stick with the plan.

Work on keeping your muscles limber by holding your stretches. For those under 40, try holding your stretches for about 30 seconds. For those over 40, try holding them for about 60 seconds. The reason for the time difference is that muscles lose their pliability as you grow older and can become strained or receive injury more easily than when you’re younger.

A modification to traditional running that can increase fitness is high knee running. It simply involves raising your knees above your waist while running. By doing high knee running, you increase strength in your core muscles by essentially doing a standing crunch while running. It’s also an extra workout for your thighs.

Walk barefoot. This will help strengthen your calf muscles as well as your ankles. This is especially helpful for women, who shorten their calf muscles by walking in high heels so often. Stretching your leg and ankle muscles cuts down on stiffness and encourages flexibility and mobility. Walking barefoot also helps your sense of balance.
