Without water, life cannot continue | World Vision

Sylvia shares how a simple thing like clean water has given hope to her and her family.

“The drought that came in 2009, it would take six hours to get water…so many people died during that drought. Livestock died, also so we could not sell it to buy food. We could only have one meal a day and some of it was not good for our health. Without water, life cannot continue. The most difficult time during that time was, I was pregnant. I was carrying a young child and carrying a water container on my back. My children and I suffered so much pain. I would ask God if we would ever live well in this land. We heard that World Vision was going to dig water for us. I became so happy that day and told God thank you for listening to our prayers. Because our prayers, God has done His will…..I think about good things in the future and now I know we’ll live better lives in this land.” Because of this water, I no longer have back pain… Whenever I see people from World Vision, I get filled with joy, and I say thank you and God bless you. You took away a burden I never thought would go away.”
