Yolanda Adams Music: She is a legendary Gospel Music singer and former radio show host from Houston, Texas. Upon graduating from Texas Southern University, she began her career working as a schoolteacher and model.
She was eventually able to perform as a lead singer with Houston’s Southeast Inspirational Choir, which is affiliated with the Church of God in Christ. While performing with the choir, she attracted the attention of several Gospel music producers and signed a contract with Sound of Gospel Records.

According to Soundscan statistics, since 1991 she has sold over 4.5 million in the U.S. and 8 million records worldwide. Adams has been named by Billboard Magazine (2009) as the #1 Gospel Artist of the last decade. From 2007 – 2016 she was host of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, which aired on radio stations owned by Radio One.
Over the course of her music ministry, she has won (5) Grammy Awards, (4) GMA Dove Awards, (16) Stellar Gospel Music Awards, (1) American Music Award, (7) NAACP Image Awards, (4) BET Awards, and (1) Soul Train Music Award.
