World Vision: Clean Water Campaign Rwanda | Meghan Markle

World Vision is proud to announce Meghan Markle, lifestyle expert, and actress, best known for her role as Rachel Zane on the hit legal drama Suits, as a Global Ambassador to the organization.

This past February, Meghan Markle traveled to Rwanda to witness World Vision’s water work. During her one-week visit to the country, she trekked to unclean water sources, visited clean water projects, helped build a well, and met many Rwandans whose hospitality and stories have made a lasting impression on her life.

Clean water does more than quench thirst, it changes lives. There are more than 663 million people worldwide living without this fundamental resource.

Partner with World Vision Canada to help bring access to clean water in order to provide:

1) Health: When a community has access to clean water, sanitation, and good hygiene practices, it helps improve medical services, like preventing infections and ensuring the healthy deliveries of children.

2) Education: School is one of the best ways to lift children out of poverty. But dirty water can cause dehydration and decreases a child’s ability to focus and learn in school.

3) Food: Clean water is for more than just drinking. It’s also integral to farming. When fields are properly irrigated, crop yields and livestock production can greatly increase.

4) Safety: In many countries in the developing world, women and children walk long distances to collect water. These journeys are dangerous, often putting their personal safety at risk.

Amnesty International: Home

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who take injustice personally. We are campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We investigate and expose the facts, whenever and wherever abuses happen. We lobby governments, and other powerful groups such as companies. Making sure they keep their promises and respect international law.

By telling the powerful stories of the people we work with, we mobilize millions of supporters around the world to campaign for change and to stand in defense of activists on the frontline. We support people to claim their rights through education and training.

World Vision Blog

We are a Christian organization working to help communities lift themselves out of poverty. For good. Did you know that for each dollar donated to World Vision, more than a dollar’s worth of help gets to kids and families? We’re always working to keep our overhead low. In 2021, we used 90% of our total operating expenses for programs that benefit children, families, and communities in need.

International Committee of the Red Cross

The ICRC operates worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We are based in Geneva, Switzerland, and employ over 20,000 people in more than 100 countries. The ICRC is funded mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Water for LIFE | LIFE Outreach International – Life Today

The worldwide need for clean water is vast. Today nearly 800 million people lack access to safe drinking water, and waterborne diseases are one of the leading causes of death for children under the age of 5. Since Water for LIFE began in 2000, your faithful support has helped provide more than 7000 wells across the globe. Thank you so much for your willingness to help with the goal of 350 new wells this year.

The Salvation Army International

The Salvation Army’s work in 132 countries is coordinated by our International Headquarters in London, UK. The Salvation Army’s International Development Services team works faithfully with some of the poorest communities across the world, with tools they can use to restore the economic, social, ecological, and spiritual relationships.
