MercyMe is a Contemporary Christian Music band formed in 1994 in Edmond, Oklahoma. They released six independent albums prior to signing with INO Records in 2001. They first gained mainstream popularity with the crossover single, “I Can Only Imagine”.
Their debut album, Almost There, went on to receive double platinum certification. They have won (8) GMA Dove Awards and has had several Grammy Award nominations. The group’s name, “MercyMe”, originated from lead singer Bart Millard’s grandmother while he was a youth ministry intern in Florida.
Current band members include: Bart Millard, Nathan Cochran, Michael John Scheuchzer, Robin Shaffer, and Barry Graul.

This is a moving song. I used to like it: It was played and sung a lot at my church. It’s nice to think that there’s a heaven after death where I can be in communion with God for eternity and ask him all the big questions, and see all the loved ones who knew him. If only.
