Koh Tao International Primary School for Kids // Thailand

Kao Tao International Primary School was born out of a long discussion between two friends,  Claire Wyndham and Eliza Taylor about the lack of education on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand.  Claire had put together a not for profit homeschool on the balcony of a friend’s house for 8 children.

The two friends were bothered by the lack of opportunities for both Thai and Myanmar immigrant children living on the island. Many were having to leave their families and be sent away to other parts of Thailand and Myanmar so their parents could work and they could get a better Thai or Burmese education.

With the help of generous supporters and volunteers, KTP has grown from a small balcony to several buildings and classes, with over seventy students.
