More than 11,200 people have died from Ebola in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone. Though the spread of the disease has slowed, it has not stopped.

Safe burials are a key to ending the scourge of Ebola. Francis Cole, an Ebola burial team member in Sierra Leone, shares some of the personal and professional challenges he has faced in his work to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus.

He says his country is struggling to recover. He cites the current food crisis, high youth unemployment, and stalled education system as obstacles to progress.

“Ebola is still here; the war is not yet over,” Francis says.
