The Biker Church’s Pastor John “Rev“ Taylor said traditional churches try to make bikers feel welcome, but many bikers feel they don’t fit in because of their long hair, tattoos and biker leathers. The metal building with a gravel driveway had been a bar before it was a church, which seemed a propos to John Taylor.
John Taylor, 58, himself a biker, has been a minister for 33 years. Worshipping God isn’t about looks, attire or a lifestyle. It’s about meeting people where they are and sharing the love of Christ. But sometimes appearances can set others apart and make them feel uncomfortable.
That is why John Taylor started The Biker Church in a small building on U.S. 49 a few miles south of Hattiesburg, Mississippi about 15 years ago.
