Aminata 1:21 she was very quiet very shy later on 1:24 that day the day after and the day after 1:26 she just got more comfortable with us 1:34 and then when she came back from surgery 1:36 you could see in her eyes that something 1:39 was different that she would look 1:42 into your eyes a little bit an easier 1:44 way and it that’s okay so they didn’t 1:58 owe me money opposed to defeat 2:00 [Music]

Aminata should be too young to feel shame. But at only eight years old, her height and build resembles that of her four-year-old cousins due to malnutrition. Ashamed of the way she ate, she refused to eat in public where other children could see and mock her.

Instead, she would nibble on leftovers that were placed around the house for her to find. Here at the Africa Mercy, we heal more than just her cleft lip as we show her that she is beautiful before and after her surgery!
