UN Food Relief Agency Struggles to Cope with Mali’s Food Shortage

Life is slowly returning to normal in parts of Mali, but with the thousands of people displaced and a pre-harvest lean season underway, the main priority right now for the United Nations (UN food relief agency) is to keep people from starving.
According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the UN food relief agency, more than 4.3 million people in Mali are now in need of household food stock, with nearly 1.4 million requiring immediate food assistance in the north.
