They have also provided gloves and jackets for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and an ambulance for her citizens.

With busy lives here in the United States, some folks may be wondering “Why should Americans support Israel?” Pastor Ken Whitten of Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, FL, answers that with the following: When only [.2%] of the worlds population is Jewish, why would Believers all over the world, and why should America in particular, stand with Israel and pray consistently for the peace of Jerusalem? I believe for two reasons: One is for the Blessing; the other is for Obedience. Our Bible came from the Jews. Our Savior was a Jew.

In a historic speech given by United States Senator Jim Inhofe (2002), he enumerated seven reasons why Israel is entitled to the land it possesses and why discussion of land ownership should not be a part of the peace process. He listed Israels archaeological right to the land, the historical right, the biblical right, the agricultural right, the humanitarian right, the right of being our strategically, and the right to stand as a roadblock to terrorism.

There has been an Israeli presence in the Holy Land for over 3,000 years. The archaeological evidence predates any claims that other peoples in the region may have. After all, the Israelis are descended from the original Israelites. Despite the two dispersions in 70 AD and 135 AD, there has always been a Jewish presence in the Land, though until 1948, control belonged to other groups including the Turks and the British. In 1948 Israel became a place where those who had suffered during the Holocaust could return to the land of their fathers and find safe haven in their own country. In fact, the modern nation of Israel has been re-gathered from more than 100 countries, speaking more than 80 languages. The United States and Israel share common core values and common threats. Both Israel and the United States are committed to democratic values.

Jonathan Bernis, President and CEO of Jewish Voice Ministries International states, I support Israel as the only viable democracy in the Middle East and the only true ally of the united States. Furthermore, I support Israel because, based on my biblical worldview, I believe this land was given by God unconditionally to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…

Calev Myers, Founder and Chief Counsel of the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, Israel tells us, According to governmental statistics, approximately 25% of the Israeli population are living under the poverty line. All Israelis also live under the ongoing pressures of existential military threats from radical elements in neighboring countries. Your support of the Celebrate Israel 2012 campaign can make a huge difference and bring light and hope to the Israeli people who need it more today than ever.

In conclusion, with Pastor Joe Van Koevering, President of Gods News Behind the News and Senior Pastor of Gateway Christian Center in St. Petersburg, FL, who will be mcing the event, Id like to encourage you to join the Celebrate Israel campaign and let your voice be heard. The Bible records that the Lord God granted the Holy Land, Israel, and its eternal capital, Jerusalem, to the Jewish people as an inheritance FOREVER. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob strengthen us as we stand with Him, His Covenant People, and His Land.
