Sarah Johnson: Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone
Elevate Your Potential Magazine
According to entrepreneur Sarah Johnson, your comfort zone is a place or situation where one feels safe or at ease and without stress, no anxiety and no turbulence. It is that place where most of us camp out and build a nice little nest. Where we don’t try anything new…we don’t stretch our selves.
We don’t talk to people that don’t look like us…we don’t eat foods that we’re not used to…we don’t venture out of our own community. We like to hang out in the comfort zone because we are afraid that if we try something new we might fail or be rejected or be ridiculed, ultimately leading to us being miserable.
Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone – Stretch Yourself
What we fail to realize is that by not trying something new, by not stretching ourselves is one of the key reasons why we are miserable. At least trying something new has the potential to make us happy. This can be daunting because it includes an element of risk. Once you start stepping out of your comfort zone, it gets easier over time.
About Sarah Johnson
She was born on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Jamaica, but immigrated to the United States at age eleven. Her family settled in West Palm Beach, Florida. She pursued her dream of getting a college education in the field of industrial engineering. She studied diligently and eventually graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
After several years of working in the corporate world, Sarah began to feel caged and not in control of her life. The weekends were never long enough because she dreaded going back to work on Monday. Between working a full time job, helping her daughter with homework assignments, managing a household and other numerous activities, she realized that she had virtually no time for herself.
Something Had to Give
The company that Sarah worked for began downsizing and exporting jobs overseas. With rumors of a company buyout circulating around the office and dwindling 401k accounts, many employees became fearful. Sarah decided not to wait around. She stepped out of her comfort zone by beginning her journey of entrepreneurship.
Since she had a Building Contractor License, Sarah decided to start a construction consulting company. After the construction industry suffered through a recession, she decided that she had to do something different. She began to seek out some mentors for extensive training in Network Marketing and using cutting edge Internet technology to boost her business.
After building a successful business, Sarah Johnson is now on a mission to inspire people to wake up to their full potential, embrace their life’s calling and create a purpose based business around it.
