Cameron Diaz on Aging Gracefully: On this episode of Oprah Prime on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), actress Cameron Diaz explains why she’ll never apologize for accepting her body the way it is today. Oprah says that our culture is obsessed with not growing into who you are meant to be. Cameron says women don’t allow other women to age gracefully. She goes on to say. “It’s like we’ve failed if we don’t allow ourselves to remain 25 for the rest of our lives… like we are failures.
Aging Gracefully and Living a Long Healthy Life
Aging Gracefully: Learn new things and keep your mind moving. Old age is often intermingled with intelligence; you should enhance your intelligence as much as you are able to. You may want to consider taking a class at your community college or just work on a crossword puzzle each day. No matter what you do, it will allow your mind to work and help keep you feeling mentally sharp.
Aging gracefully will require you to learn as much as possible about this process. Learning should be a lifelong goal. You will get a boost from good friends and positive energy. You will never be too old to find new friends. Friendships, both old and new, are a great way to contribute to a long and healthy life.
Keep Your Hormones Balanced
When people get older, it’s important to take control of your hormonal balance. Hormone imbalances can cause a slew of problems as we age. Depression, weight gain and insomnia are a few problems caused by out of whack hormones, and these can lead to additional medical problems. See a doctor, and find out the best way to keep your hormones balanced in order to significantly improve the quality of your later years.
To put it in a simple way, you can help yourself prevent heart disease by eating less red meat and more fish. The fat contained in meat will eventually clog your vessels and arteries. Fish does the complete opposite, so add it to your diet, and minimize your intake of red meat, as it really will help you live longer and healthier.
Drink Plenty of Water
Drink adequate amounts of water. As you grow older, you are more prone to dehydration. Consequently, it is more important than ever to drink a full eight to ten glasses of water daily.
We all get a little bit older every day and there isn’t a single thing you can do to stop it. So make sure that you’re also getting wiser as you get older. Be sure that you’re using the tips provided to you in the article above to do the little things to ensure that you age well and avoid complications.
