The Dr. Oz Show Channel: Maintain A Healthy Lifestyle with Dr. Mehmet Oz
Elevate Christian Network :: Health and Wellness
- According to Doctor Oz, losing weight is not about finding a quick fix — it’s about finding a healthy lifestyle and the habits that will work best for you long-term. You’ll be amazed at at how quickly your body responds to the right foods and exercise.
Problems With Conventional Diets
Dr. Oz discusses the common questions people ask him concerning weight loss or dieting. He says the problem with conventional diets is that they depend on willpower. Biology will always override willpower no matter how much you want it to work. Dr. Oz goes on to say that your waist size and not your weight is the best predictor of health.
He goes on to say if you have too much belly fat problems start to happen…and your belly gets big because of the fat stored underneath your stomach muscles. Here are the lifesaving numbers you need to know: weight, waist size, blood pressure, cholesterol, and fasting blood sugar.

Helpful Tips for Losing Those Extra Unwanted Pounds
There are a number of reasons you might be overweight. Stress and poor eating habits, top the list but there are countless reasons you might be holding on to extra pounds. The good news is that no matter what your reasons, there is a solution. Take action on these tips and watch your weight melt away.
Here is a really easy tip to make weight loss a little bit more effortless. When you are watching TV, do some kind of physical activity during every commercial break. Get up and walk around the house, do some lunges, lift some weights – anything to get your body moving. There are about 8 minutes of commercials in every half hour of television programming. So over a night’s TV viewing, you could get in an hour or more of exercise.
Cut Down on Eating Fast Food
A key to losing weight is to cut way down on the amount of fast food you eat. Fast food restaurants serve high calorie foods, which are not only fattening but unhealthy in other ways. Do yourself a favor and try some “fast” ready-to-go foods such as apples and carrot sticks instead.
If you want to lose weight, a great thing to do is find substitutes for foods you already enjoy. For instance, if you love ice cream but are on a diet, try frozen yogurt or even regular yogurt. Instead of drinking cream in your coffee, try a non-dairy creamer. This will give you the feeling that you are still enjoying food; just in a healthier way.
Fad Diets Don’t Last Long
If you want to lose weight the healthy way, it’s best to pass on fad diets. Diets that do not have the nutrition you need may hurt you in the long run. These types of diets are commonplace in the world of weight loss; they become popular for a bit then fade away into oblivion. They don’t last long, even if you lose a little weight, because they do not support the overall goal of good health.
Start your day off with exercise and weight loss can be easy. Don’t wait until you’ve got the stress of the day weighing on you; wake up, do a workout, and start the day from there. That way you can’t complain that you don’t feel well and can’t exercise, or that you are just too busy.
Stress Can Be a Source of Weight Gain
Calm down and de-stress to lose weight. Stress causes your body to keep fat and calories as defense. Stress is usually temporary so try to develop a positive mindset when dealing with it. Large amounts of stress can contribute to weight gain.
If you feel like your reasons for being overweight are strong, use these tips to make yourself stronger. Practice one tip at a time until it is second nature, then try the rest. You’re strong enough to knock that weight off if you commit to losing weight. Just say yes to a slimmer you.

Calories from what??? Fat, carbohydrates, or protein? Your body metabolizes each differently. Look up the A to Z diet study. Or how the fatty acid cycle works. Calories are NOT created equal.

I’ve been browsing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all
webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.

I’ve been surfing online greater than three hours these days, yet
I by no means found any fascinating article like yours. It’s beautiful value enough for
me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you probably did, the net might
be much more useful than ever before.
