Pilates Workout Channel.   Pilates training is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates.   The conditioning routines help to build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back.

In our featured video, Denise Austin guides you through a Power Pilates workout that is designed to burn fat, boost energy, and tone the abs, hips, thighs, butt, and upper body through a mixture of target-toning Pilates moves, and strength moves using 3 lb hand weights.

How to Increase Your Level Of Physical Fitness

When we are young, fitness comes easily. We play sports or are active in our daily life. But sometime during middle age, our fitness tends to

decline. And in our retirement years we may begin to really pay a price for letting our fitness wane. This doesn’t have to happen. Here are some tips that will help to make your story a happy one of continued fitness throughout life.

An extremely important part of an fitness regimen is a regular rest day. This gives your muscles a chance to repair any damage they have suffered. If you don’t take a regular rest day, you are likely to suffer a damaging injury that could take you away from training for much longer than a day.

A great way to get fit is to pick up an active hobby such as skiing or snowboarding. Not only will you be having tremendous amounts of fun, you’ll be burning a substantial amount of calories as well. Surfing can also be a great active hobby to have.

Weight Training

If you want great results when weight training, be sure that you are always switching up your techniques. Do not stick with the same few exercises. Even if you are targeting the same muscle group, you should try a different exercise, heavier or lighter weights or different intensity levels. This is how you can get the most out of your training.

When it comes to exercise, don’t take the “all or nothing” approach. It is much better to sneak in a little bit of exercise than to do nothing at all. Just a simple walk will help with your overall health. If you only have one day a week to commit to strength training, you will still see benefits.

Improving your strength is important while trying to get fit. Lifting heavy weights for shorter periods of time is better for the muscle and it will lessen the chance of getting muscle strain. This applies to running as well. Running harder for shorter periods, with breaks, will help you get stronger in a safe and healthy way.

Pilates Workout

If you get bored with your fitness routine, try another one. Sometimes, it can be boring to do the same workout over and over, so switch it up. Instead of doing a cardio workout, try yoga or Pilates. Do more strength training workouts. This way you won’t get bored as easily.

Pilates is a form of exercising that works to change the shape of your body by using core based movements. Pilates strengthens and lengthens muscle; it does not build muscle mass. Adding this type of strength exercise to your regular cardio workout will help to give your body a better transformation.
